Getting Started

Quickstart

Quickstart

Get your first Aivana API call running in under 5 minutes.

1

Get your API key

Sign in to AI Studio, open API Keys, and create your first key.

Store your key

Your secret key is shown only once. Store it in a server-side secret manager or environment variable. Never embed an Aivana API key in browser or mobile code.

2

Install the SDK

Install the Aivana SDK for Python or Node.js. You can also use curl directly if you prefer not to install a library.

pip install aivana
3

Configure the client

Create the client with your API key, read from the environment. The official SDKs already know where the Aivana API is, so there is no URL to configure.

export AIVANA_API_KEY="your-aivana-api-key"
4

Make your first request

Send a prompt and print the answer. This request also asks for the Intelligence Trace, so you can see how many perspectives were compared and whether live sources were used (see Intelligence Trace). It is optional: leave intelligence_trace out and the response has no trace.

bash
curl https://api.aivana.ai/v1/generate \
  -H "X-API-Key: $AIVANA_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"prompt": "Write a haiku about the ocean.", "intelligence_trace": true}'

Next, see the Generate reference and Parameters for everything a request can do, and SDKs for streaming, conversations and error handling. Prefer the terminal? The Command Line lets you ask Aivana from your shell, no code required.
